Schervier Nursing Care Center names interim director of nursing

Bon Secours New York Health System’s Schervier Nursing Care Center, Riverdale, N.Y., has named Nebuchadrezzar “Joneb” P. Alday, BSN, RN, as interim director of nursing. Alday succeeds John Best, who resigned his position to pursue new endeavors.

Alday began his tenure at Schervier, which specializes in long-term and rehabilitation care in the Riverdale section of The Bronx, in June 2012. He previously served in the acute-care setting, most recently at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in the cardiac telemetry/heart failure unit.

“Joneb demonstrates great resiliency and is a steadfast anchor in the nursing department,” Dominic D’Ambrosio, Schervier’s administrator, said in a news release. “He has adopted an interdisciplinary and inclusive approach to improving the delivery of clinical care to those we serve. I know Joneb will do well and look forward to his continued leadership.”

Alday holds a BS in civil engineering from Technological Institute of the Philippines and an accelerated BSN from Dominican College, Blauvelt, N.Y. He is pursuing an MSN in executive leadership and healthcare management from Jacksonville (Fla.) University.
