Massachusetts hospice home earns Hometown Hero award from TV station

The Pat Roche Hospice Home, Hingham, Mass., and NVNA and Hospice, Norwell, Mass., were recently honored by Fox 25 TV and Digital Federal Credit Union for making a difference in the community.

The NVNA and Hospice staff and Pat Roche Hospice Home volunteers were awarded a “Hometown Hero” award for their selfless contributions to the community during a Fox 25 Zip Trip morning segment set in Hingham.

NVNA and Hospice CEO Meg Doherty, MSN, MBN, ANP, was interviewed live for the Aug. 31 morning segment and accepted the award on behalf of the hospice home’s volunteers and professional staff. Fox 25’s Shannon Mulaire presented the award.

“We are honored to have been selected for the award and to bring awareness to the community of the wonderful work that our professional staff and volunteers do on behalf of patients and their families,” Doherty said in a news release. “The Pat Roche Hospice Home is a peaceful, special place for patients on end-of-life care, and the home is being well used by families in our South Shore community.”
