Mercy College announces new BSN degree program

Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., has announced a new BSN degree program beginning in September 2015. The program has been approved by New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions.

“Mercy’s [BSN] degree program will be a wonderful addition to our college and our existing nursing programs,” Peggy C. Tallier, EdD, RN, MPA, director of nursing programs, said in a news release. “Mercy College will now be contributing to the predicted shortage of highly qualified nurses in the U.S.”

The program will offer cohort traditional face-to-face classes. Clinical learning experiences will be conducted via a simulation laboratory as well as hands-on, instructor-supervised training in Westchester County and New York City healthcare facilities, according to the release.

Upon successful completion, students will earn a baccalaureate degree, be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN licensure examination and be qualified for admission to graduate nursing programs.
