MJHS has unveiled a hospice inpatient residence to care for children as well as adults.
The inpatient residence is on the 10-acre oceanfront grounds of Menorah Center in Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn.
We were compelled to meet an unmet need, and Im very proud that our vision is realized in the peaceful oceanfront setting of Manhattan Beach, Eli S. Feldman, CEO of MJHS, said in a news release. The hospice inpatient residence has been a true labor of love and the latest shining achievement of MJHS.
The inpatient residence has 16 private homelike suites. Each suite has a separate bedroom, living room and kitchenette. Common space includes a family lounge, library, family dining room, playroom, onsite playground and more.
Today we take pediatric hospice care to another level, Barbara Hiney, executive vice president of MJHS Hospice and Palliative Care, said in the release. At our new inpatient residence, the focus is on creating a home-like experience and delivering quality care under the supervision of board-certified hospice clinicians, spiritual care coordinators, creative arts therapists, bereavement counselors and volunteers.
MJHS also recently announced the addition of 100 mostly private beds for sub-acute and long-term patients at Menorah Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing Care, Brooklyn.
