NurseWise hires new directors

NurseWise, a national provider of multilingual nursing and health education service, announced its new director of clinical care center outreach operations and quality, Janis M. Dougherty, RN, MSN, and its new director of clinical care center operations, Susan Schon, RN. Schon will oversee medical triage and behavioral health operations for NurseWise, according to a news release.

More on Dougherty

In July, Dougherty assumed responsibility to manage quality and outreach programs for NurseWise’s six brick-and-mortar call center locations. NurseWise has locations in Tempe, Ariz.; El Paso, Texas; Tyler, Texas; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Atlanta; and St. Louis.

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Janis Dougherty to our team,” said Kim Tuck, RN, president and CEO of NurseWise. “Janis is an extremely talented RN with highly-advanced skills in the field of nursing and clinical care center management, and we know she’ll help us further strengthen and enhance our proactive health care programs and quality oversight measures.”

Dougherty brings more than 20 years’ experience in clinical care operations, acute care provision, health education and business management to NurseWise. She has led nursing teams within hospital and healthcare systems, securing record satisfaction scores and quality improvement achievements. Before joining NurseWise, Dougherty was the director of clinical operations for healthways from 2011 to 2014, and she served as the clinical care operations manager for Healthways from 2007 to 2011.

Schon background

For the past eight years, Schon served as senior director of medical management at Managed Health Services in Wisconsin. Earlier in her career, she held positions at UnitedHealth Group, APS Healthcare, Wisconsin Health Fund and First Health.

“As we continue to grow our business to support more lives across the country, it’s important that we add extremely talented health care professionals like Sue to our team,” Tuck said in a release. “Sue brings a combination of clinical and management experience, as well as Medicaid and Medicare experience.”
