New Jersey nurses take part in Back to Baby event at Overlook

“Back to Baby” was the theme as perinatal nurses from New Jersey gathered recently for the Perinatal Conference in the Bouras Auditorium at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, N.J.
The conference was presented by Overlook’s perinatal education committee.
After Overlook’s Maternity Center manager, Nancy DeFreest, RNC, MA, gave introductory remarks, speakers addressed five areas.
Speakers and topics were Barbara Ostfeld, RN, PhD, “Nurses LEAD the Way: Safe Sleep Practices for Infants”; Donna Symons, RNC-OB. MSN, “Physiologic Birth”; Monica Myron, RNC, “Skin to Skin Contact and Infant Thermoregulation”; Christine Novak, RNC-OB, BSN, CCE: “The Value of Doula Attended Births”; and Ashley Daubert, RN, and Chante Taylor-Hutton, RN: “Immediate vs. Delayed Cord Clamping.”
