Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital nurses present quality initiatives

Nurses from Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital presented successful quality initiatives to nursing colleagues at regional and national conferences.

Wendi Froedge, RN, MSN, CCRN, clinical educator in critical care, presented at the American Nurses Credentialing Center Pathway to Excellence Conference in San Antonio and at the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses conference in Baltimore. Froedge presented how inter-professional collaboration led the hospital to achieve a remarkable zero ventilator-associated pneumonia rate for more than four consecutive years.

Elaine Ngitit, RN, BSN, CCRN, critical care staff nurse, showcased the hospital’s early mobility program at the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses’ National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition in Denver. Ngitit presented the successful outcomes obtained by the hospital’s surgical ICU by promoting early, structured mobility of patients.
