Olivet Nazarene graduate student wins national nurse award

Julie Bright-Allott, RN, BSN, a student in Olivet Nazarene University’s School of Graduate and Continuing Studies, has been selected as the National Nurse of the Year by Kelly Services. She received the award for her professionalism, competence and strong work ethic, according to a news release.

Based on performance feedback from Kelly customers, the award was developed to recognize Kelly nurses for their outstanding work in the healthcare industry.

“We congratulate Julie on receiving this honor,” Linda Davison, RN, EdD, MBA, MSN, dean of Olivet’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences in Bourbonnais, Ill., said in the release. “She is an outstanding example of what it takes to be successful in the field of nursing and of the many quality nurses that our university is graduating each year.”

A nurse for 20 years, Bright-Allott has worked for Kelly for the last six months in an occupational health setting. Her new role complements previous experiences as a labor and delivery, venous access and ostomy education nurse. She is enrolled in Olivet’s Family Nurse Practitioner program.

“Working for Kelly has allowed me the flexibility to pursue a rigorous graduate academic nursing program while honing my nursing skills,” Bright-Allott said in the release. “I have the best of both worlds.”
