Ambulatory care

I read the article “Dream teams” (Nurse.com/Article/Dream-Teams), about ambulatory care and smiled. Ambulatory nurses do great work across the continuum. It really does take a village. Nurses are the “translators” for physicians and patients/families and understand well how chronic disease progresses. Nurses focus on teaching self-management skills and how to cope with health changes.

Thank you for the frequent acknowledgment of the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing. I am a long-time member and cheerleader of this organization and the work it promotes.
