Question:
Dear Donna,
I was a diploma nurse who just finished a bridge program for my MSN. I have noticed that many jobs either require a BSN or state BSN required MSN preferred. Do I need to go back to school and get a BSN along with my MSN to qualify for these jobs?
MSN Nurse
Dear Donna replies:
Dear MSN Nurse,
If you have an MSN, that trumps a BSN. So any job that requires a BSN, you are more than qualified with an MSN. When a BSN is required, it implies a ‘minimum’ of a BSN level of education is required. You already have surpassed that with your MSN.
Best wishes,
Donna
