How an RN with a license on probation took Donna’s advice to find a job and received multiple job offers.

Dear Donna,

Back in April 5, 2013, I wrote to you and you answered. I just wanted to let you know that your words have inspired me so much. You gave me a positive outlook on my situation, which was difficulty finding a job because I had received my RN license with probation. I’ve had two different jobs, even though I was on probation. More importantly, I’ve had other job offers from managers who knew I was on probation, but were willing to give me a chance.

It is possible to find a job and far from an insurmountable problem. Your words of wisdom will always be with me.

Dear Feeling Inspired Even on Probation,

Feeling Inspired Even on Probation

Thank you so much for writing and letting me know how things turned out. I am so happy for you. Keep up the great work.

I have included a link here to your original question and my response to you in case someone else finds themselves in a similar situation: ( Your follow-up note will serve to inspire others because they can see that the extra effort is worth it and, as you say, no obstacle is insurmountable.

Best wishes,

I was suspended for 5 yrs for diverting pain pills. My suspension is over and of course I want to be a nurse again. I am deciding whether or not to skip getting a lawyer unless I need one for an appeal, but I graduated with 2 associates in Human services and Drug and Alcohol counseling just in case so I can have a career yo fall back on and I just got a job where I have to get med training to give meds to my 3 clients. I very worried I don’t know if they will find out and I will lose the job. I was wondering if it is permitted to work this type of job, even though I am not acting as a nurse. And do you have any advice for me trying to reinstate?
