Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, N.J., has signed a clinical collaboration agreement with Rhode Island-based MinuteClinic to enhance access to healthcare services at MinuteClinics walk-in medical clinics inside select CVS pharmacy stores in Middlesex and Mercer counties.
Under the agreement, RWJ and MinuteClinic will collaborate on patient education and disease management initiatives and will inform patients of the services each offer at the MinuteClinic locations inside CVS/pharmacy stores in East Brunswick, Old Bridge and Plainsboro. The collaboration includes plans for future clinics in the two counties.
As we continue to move forward in the post-healthcare reform environment, a greater emphasis will be placed on prevention initiatives, Joshua Bershad, MD, MBA, senior vice president and chief medical officer at RWJ, said in a news release. Our partnership with MinuteClinic aligns perfectly with our mission of encouraging and promoting wellness in the communities served by our health system.
RWJ and MinuteClinic will begin to work toward integrating electronic medical record systems to streamline communication around all aspects of each individuals care, according to the release.
The affiliation is MinuteClinics 30th collaboration with a hospital or health system in the U.S.
