Calvary Hospital chooses new nursing VP

Margaret M. Pelkowski, RN, MSN, has joined Calvary Hospital as vice president for hospital patient care services.

According to a news release, she has overall responsibility for the nursing department’s care of all inpatients admitted to Calvary’s 200-bed Bronx hospital and 25-bed Brooklyn Satellite at Lutheran Medical Center, along with the professional growth of more than 500 nurses, cancer care technicians and ward secretaries.

“We are delighted to have someone on board with [Pelkowski’s] expertise and commitment to the Calvary mission,” Frank A. Calamari, president and CEO, Calvary Hospital, said in the release. “We are confident that with her at the helm of our nursing department, Calvary will continue providing the best possible care to our patients and families.”

Pelkowski arrives at Calvary after a 13-year stint at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, where she most recently served as the vice president of nursing. She also has served as a director of nursing at Lenox Hill Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan, along with Saint Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey.
