Nyack (N.Y.) Hospital has been honored with The Joint Commissions Gold Seal of Approval for its hip and knee joint replacement program.
The hospital qualified for the certification award by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commissions national standards for healthcare quality and safety in disease-specific care.
In achieving Joint Commission certification, Nyack Hospital has demonstrated its commitment to the highest level of care for its patients with joint replacements, Jean Range, RN, MS, CPHQ, executive director, disease-specific care certification, for the Chicago-based The Joint Commission, said in a news release.
Nyack Hospital underwent an on-site review in early January.
A Joint Commission expert evaluated Nyack Hospital for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients and families, including infection prevention, leadership and medication management.
