How can a first-year student nurse in Ghana find work while going to school to pay for tuition and other expenses?

Dear Donna,

I am a first-year student nurse at a college in Ghana. I lost my father during my first semester of study. Education in Ghana has become very expensive, especially in the medical department. I need information on how I can find work while going to school so that I can support my education.

Student nurse in Ghana

Dear Donna replies:

Dear Student nurse in Ghana,

I’m not sure if you are looking for work in Ghana or in the U.S. I would suggest you first contact the Ghana Registered Nurses Association (www.ghananurses.org) to seek resources for financial assistance and scholarships in your country and for international students.

There are also some associations of Ghana nurses in America such as the Ghana Nurses Association of Virginia (www.ghanava.org) that may be able to lend additional support and help.

Best wishes,
Donna
