Oak Hill Hospital, Brooksville, Fla., appointed Susan Cooper, RN, MS, BSN, as director of its neuro/tele unit and newly formed clinical decision unit, according to a news release.
Cooper has extensive nursing and leadership experience in cardiovascular patient care. Her previous position was as cardiovascular ICU manager at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson, Fla. She holds an MS degree in nursing leadership from Walden University and a BSN from the University of South Florida in Tampa.
The neuro/tele unit for stroke/telemetry patients is equipped with GE telemetry. The clinical decision unit is a 16-bed observation unit which provides a 5:1 nurse to patient ratio. Patients are placed in the CDU until there is a decision to admit or discharge a patient.
