The Professional Practice Council at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia recognized the hospitals DAISY Award recipient for the fourth quarter of 2013: Ticora Marable, RN, BSN, of the Sixth Floor Transitional Care Unit.
Ticora was presented with the award by Michael F. Beshel, RN, MBA, MHA, BSN, NE-BC, vice president of patient care services and CNO, in December.
Ticora was nominated by a two different patients, according to a news release. The first patient expressed kind words about Ticoras willingness to help patients, no matter how big or small the request
From day one, she has made me feel safe and comfy,” the patient said according to the relase. “Whenever I buzz, she is there with a smile and a helping hand. No question is too small for her to answer. There needs to be more people like Ticora in this world. Ticora has made a difference in my life and I couldnt thank her enough. Ticora, in my eyes, deserves this award.”
The second patient echoed similar sentiments about Ticora, adding, Ticoras pleasant smile reflects her personality. From day one, [she] informed me of all my medications. She printed out warning signs and what foods to avoid. My stay has been much better since Ticora was in my life. She is one of those people who will go that extra mile to help you. She is an asset to Nazareth Hospital.
