Cynthia Nowicki Hnatiuk, RN, EdD, CAE, FAAN, of Westampton, N.J., recently was inducted as a fellow by the American Academy of Nursing.
She was inducted on Oct. 19 during the academys 40th Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
Hnatiuk is vice president for organizational development at Anthony J. Jannetti, Inc., in Pitman, N.J., an association management company that specializes in managing professional nursing organizations. At AJJ, Hnatiuk is the executive director of the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses, the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing and the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board. She oversees operations and supervises all staff functions for these organizations.
During her career, Hnatiuk has worked on a national level to promote the value of nursing certification and its benefits to nurses, facilities and patients. She has helped AJJs specialty nursing associations innovate services, expand education and increase membership. She was instrumental in the merging of two national organizations into what is now known as the Nursing Organizations Alliance, a collaborative of more than 60 nursing associations advancing the profession.
Hnatiuk is a member of the American Society of Association Executives. She is past president of the American Society of Plastic Surgical Nurses and the Plastic Surgical Nursing Certification Board. She serves as the Awards Committee chairperson for the American Board of Nursing Specialties and is a member of the manuscript review panel for the Journal of Continuing Education in Nursing.
