Families of babies who received care at Chilton Hospitals Level II Special Care Nursery in Pompton Plains, N.J., gathered Sept. 11 for the units fourth annual reunion. Sixteen families with 24 children attended the event and were treated to an afternoon of food and entertainment.
The Starlight Children’s Foundation donated 48 Pillow Pals stuffed animal toys, plus two hours of time from Hug-A-Me, a clown who entertained the children with face painting and games.
Neonatologist Lawrence Skolnick, MD, made a presentation to the parents about the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on 9/11 and why Chilton chose the date to honor the memory of those who perished by holding an event that symbolizes life and a new hope for the future.
A photo album of the babies and children who attended the Special Care Nursery Reunion is available on Chilton Hospitals Facebook page at Facebook.com/ChiltonHealth.
Chiltons nursery is approved by the State of New Jersey to care for infants with a gestational age of at least 32 weeks, including babies with infections, respiratory issues or other medical complications.
