The Emergency Nurses Association recently announced the recipients of the associations 2013 Annual Achievement Awards. The awards recognize individuals who exemplify exceptional professional practice, innovation, leadership and advocacy. Individuals who receive an achievement award demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the advancement of the specialty of emergency nursing, according to a news release.
Leah Davis, RN, BSN, CEN, of Philadelphia, received the Nursing Education Award. Rhonda Holmstrom, RN, BSN, CEN, of Woodbury Heights, N.J., received the Nursing Practice and Professionalism Award. AnnMarie Papa, RN, DNP, CEN, NE-BC, FAEN, of Glenside, Pa., received the Judith C. Kelleher Award.
Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Del., received the Forensic Nurse Examiner Team Award.
Recipients were nominated and selected from a large pool of candidates.
The recipients of the 2013 Annual Achievement Awards have each excelled in their specific specialty area and are all committed to innovative thinking and leadership in order to continually advance emergency nursing, JoAnn Lazarus, RN, MSN, CEN, 2013 ENA president, said in the release. The profession of emergency nursing is truly enhanced due to their contributions, and the result is seen through nursing excellence and high quality patient care.
