Chris Giberson, RN, MSN, CCRN, CRNA, APN, was named president the of New Jersey Association of Nurse Anesthetists with a one-year term that began in August.
Giberson earned his masterâs in nurse anesthesia in 2009 from Thomas Jefferson Universityâs Jefferson School of Nursing in Philadelphia and has been active with NJANA since 2010.
As president of the organization, Giberson will oversee overall operations.
âThe focus of my tenure as president will include increasing efficiency and creating a renewable succession planning system within the organization,â Giberson said in a news release. Giberson credited Jefferson with encouraging his involvement in state and national organizations as a student.
âWhile being a student in the nurse anesthesia program at Jefferson, there was a strong encouragement to attend state and national meetings,â he said in the release. âThis invaluable exposure led me to the desire to participate in the state and national organizations. The leadership training in Thomas Jeffersonâs nurse anesthesia program provided an ease in transition to the role of president in the state organization.â â¢
