The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del., recently celebrated the graduation of 19 graduates, the class of 2013, at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach, Del.
Ralph Williams, RN, CRNA with Beebe, was the honored commencement speaker. Danielle LeGates, president of the class of 2014, presented congratulations to the graduates. Jay Wingate, RN, president of the class of 2013, shared class reflections and special awards for each of his classmates.
The Board of Directors Award for the highest academic achievement was received by Eric Lehr, RN. The Beebe Medical Center medical staff sponsored the Salutatorian award for the second-highest academic achievement, which was presented to Andrew Hudson, RN. The Alumni Award was presented to Alexa Baich, RN. The Patient Care Directors Leadership Award was presented to Kyle Perry, RN.
The Beebe Medical Center Auxiliary presented an additional award to Lehr, while Baich also received the Maternal Child Award, and Hudson also received the Dr. David Howard Memorial Award. The Bayside Health Association Award was presented to Tré Zuniga. Amy Cosgrove, RN was honored with the Faculty Award. Melissa Werner, RN, received the Pat Smith Leadership Award.
Cancer in Common of Rehoboth honored Mariya Zimenkova, RN, with its award. Jessinae Masanque, RN, was the recipient of the Delaware Hospice award. The Lily Campbell Award was presented to Wingate. Julie Short, RN, was honored for her perfect attendance.
Connie E. Bushey, RN, MSN, MEd, director of the school of nursing, along with class advisors Nancy Bastholm, RN, MSN, and Karen Pickard, RN, MSN, CNE, presented the graduates with their school pin. Jeffrey M. Fried, FACHE, president and CEO of Beebe Medical Center, presented the diplomas.
