Inspira Health Network, Vineland, N.J., on May 15 recognized 38 individual nurses of the year, one from each department at the Vineland, Elmer and Bridgeton campuses.
Clinical nurses from each unit are given a nomination ballot each spring and encouraged to anonymously nominate a colleague for their contributions to the individual unit or department and to the organization as a whole.
The Inspira Health Network Nurses of the Year were recognized at a breakfast reception hosted by Inspira Health Network CNE and Inspira Medical Center Vineland COO Elizabeth Sheridan, RN, BSN, MA, NEA-BC, FACHE.
“Rewarding and recognizing the unique contributions of our nurses is essential in a Magnet environment,” Sheridan said in her opening remarks, according to a news release. “We provide excellent patient care and professional development; continued growth is a large part of what makes that possible. Celebrating excellence fosters an environment in which exceptional nurses thrive.”
Each of the 38 recipients was introduced by their nurse manager or nursing director and a brief synopsis of each nomination was read. In addition, each recipients name is added to a plaque displayed on the units Professional Excellence wall.
