Nazareth Hospital nurse wins DAISY Award

The Professional Practice Council at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia recognized the hospital’s second DAISY Award recipient, Beth Cantz, RN, of the neuroscience unit. Cantz was presented with the award April 17 by Michael Beshel, RN, BSN, MBA, MHA, NE-BC, vice president of patient care services and CNO.

Cantz was nominated by two of her coworkers.

According to her nomination letter, “Cantz … goes out of her way to help her co-workers and the doctors. She always has the right answers for you. She never hesitates to help you or answer your questions. She always talks to her families as if they were her own. She never says no. She is always eager to learn and teach the rest of her peers. She is energetic and a hard worker.”

“Beth is the wound care champion for our unit … a preceptor for new nurses and has served as interim charge nurse,” Kelly Herninko, RN, the patient care manager on Cantz’s unit, said in a news release. “She is a valued member of the neuroscience unit. Beth is dedicated to her patients and colleagues, and she is a true leader.”
