DeSales University nursing professor receives Trocaire Leadership Award for Healthcare

Mary Ellen Miller, RN, PhD, who recently was promoted to associate professor in the department of nursing and health at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pa., received the Trocaire Leadership Award for Healthcare in April from Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School in Gwynedd Valley, Pa.

According to a news release, the Trocaire Leadership award is given to alumnae of Gwynedd Mercy who inspire and motivate others; exhibit outstanding leadership in their professional and personal lives and throughout the community; are committed to personal growth, social responsibility and global awareness; and contribute to the development of others through mentorship and volunteerism.

Miller’s family has several generations of nurses. Joining her for the award ceremony on April 20 were her sister, Katrina Kniezewski, RN, CRNP, and their mother, Therese Soroka Kniezewski, RN.
