VA Maryland Health Care System names new CNE

Sheila Bryson-Eckroade, RN, BSN, MEd, NEA-BC, has been appointed CNE for the Veterans Affairs Maryland Health Care System in Baltimore.

As CNE, Bryson-Eckroade is responsible for the provision, coordination and supervision of nursing services within VA Maryland, a multifacility system providing acute, subacute, mental health and long-term care services. According to a news release, Bryson-Eckroade is an integral member of the healthcare system’s management team and works collaboratively with administrators to plan and deliver quality and safe patient care.

“I’m very happy to join the VA Maryland Health Care System team,” Bryson-Eckroade said in the release. “It’s a privilege to become the professional lead for the nurses here and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with them and further improve the quality of care for our veteran patients.”

Bryson-Eckroade has more than 33 years of experience in the healthcare field, working at both community and investor-owned health systems. She has experience in nursing administration, education, patient safety and risk management.
