BRONX — Nurses from Montefiore Medical Center were among those who participated Dec. 3 in a nationwide video project in support of The American Nurse book, which features a depiction of nursing across the country.
Joined by the projects photographer/interviewer, the nurses signed copies of the book for colleagues and friends.
Photographer/interviewer Carolyn Jones explained the project to attendees in a short presentation. Rhonda Collins, RN, MSN, who commissioned the book, then presented a copy to Joan OBrien, RN, MSN, Montefiores director of nursing, “so that there would always be a copy at [Montefiore],” Collins said.Photos by Tracey Boyd

OBrien was among the 12 Montefiore nurses who were interviewed for the project. The book features 75 portraits and interviews with nurses from across the country.
