Widener professor named chair of NLN review panel

Barbara Patterson, RN, PhD, ANEF, professor of nursing and director of the PhD in nursing program at Widener University in Chester, Pa., has been appointed to chair the National League for Nursing’s nursing education research grants review panel.

Patterson, who is a fellow in the NLN, will chair the panel through September 2013. She will be responsible for developing and making recommendations for the review and selection process, reviewing proposals and grant recipients, and evaluating selection criteria.

“I am honored to be a part of the review process,” Patterson said. “I look forward to the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the advancement of nursing education science and research. It is through robust empirical studies that nursing education will develop evidence-based teaching practices, and our students will be the recipients of these endeavors.”
