Chamberlain dedicates new Houston location

Reginal Miller, director of admissions, Chamberlain College of Nursing, Houston location; Daniel Hamburger, president & CEO, DeVry Inc., William Hughson, president, Healthcare Group, DeVry Inc.; John Zerwas, MD, Texas House of Representatives; Mary Judith Yoho, RN, PhD, CNE, president, Chamberlain College of Nursing, Houston, tour the campus.

On Oct. 5, healthcare and community leaders helped Chamberlain College of Nursing celebrate and officially dedicate its Houston location. In Houston, Chamberlain offers a BSN degree program that can be completed in three years of year-round study, as well as a hybrid second-degree BSN option that can be completed in as few as 13 months. The majority of the coursework is completed online, but students must complete clinical work at local healthcare institutions.

The Houston location enables Chamberlain to reach aspiring nurses and respond to the critical and growing shortage of nursing professionals in Texas, according to a news release.

Mary Yoho, RN, MSN, PhD, CNE, was appointed to lead the way as president of the Houston location. Yoho joins Chamberlain with more than 30 years of experience in nursing and education, including practice, instruction, management and research. She will oversee implementation of the curriculum, delivery of student services, growth and development of regional clinical partnerships and management of the day-to-day operations for the Houston location.

“It is a privilege to join the innovative and respected team at Chamberlain College of Nursing,” Yoho said in the release. “I look forward to growing this location and to preparing future nurse leaders who can advance healthcare outcomes.”
