Nurse’s new book hits best-seller charts

Vickie Milazzo

A nurse’s new book appeared at No. 1 on the best-selling books list and also made one of the New York Times’ best-seller lists.

Vickie Milazzo, RN, MSN, JD, wrote “Wicked Success Is Inside Every Woman,” which temporarily topped the Amazon charts in conjunction with its release Sept. 21, according to a statement from her company. Amazon’s rankings are updated hourly.

In addition, the book appeared at No. 6 on the Times’ list of best-selling hardcover advice and miscellaneous books for the week ending Oct. 9.

In the book, Milazzo — the owner and CEO of the Vickie Milazzo Institute, a legal nurse consulting education company based in Houston — shares the secrets of her successes and setbacks in building a thriving business. She discusses how the guiding principles of her own life and business can help women everywhere achieve their dreams and describes how women can tap 10 feminine strengths to achieve personal and professional success.

Milazzo, a critical care nurse for six years who grew up in New Orleans, founded her education company for legal nurse consultants in 1982 after feeling dissatisfied with her bedside career. She built a professional association, the National Alliance of Certified Legal Nurse Consultants, of 5,000 members.

Milazzo’s institute has trained more than 20,000 nurses to become certified legal nurse consultants, according to her website. The company’s slogan is “Revolutionizing nursing careers one RN at a time.” She also wrote the 2006 Wall Street Journal best-seller, “Inside Every Woman: Using the 10 Strengths You Didn’t Know You Had to Get the Career and Life You Want Now.”
