Bayada Nurses, a national home healthcare company based in Moorestown, N.J., was honored in late May with the 2011 Dale Carnegie Training International Leadership Award.
Mark Baiada, the founder and president of Bayada, accepted the award on behalf of his employees. The recognition honors industry leaders that place special emphasis on employee development.
“I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude, and I am proud to dedicate this award to our employees, who are Bayada Nurses’ greatest assets,” Baiada said in a news release. “We are committed to providing our employees with continual education and learning programs so they can grow professionally and develop the leadership skills needed to help Bayada care for more people in the comfort of home.”
Established in 1985, the Carnegie award has been presented to about 300 organizations worldwide, including Ford Motor Company, Coca-Cola, Adidas, Boeing, Four Seasons Hotels and Daimler-Chrysler.
Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Upland, Pa.: Republican State Sen. Dominic Pileggi recently visited Crozer-Chester’s annual trauma symposium to present members of the trauma team with a special proclamation from the Pennsylvania Senate recognizing the 25th anniversary of the Crozer Regional Trauma Center.
Covenant Home Care, Reading Pa.: Covenant, an affiliate of Reading’s St. Joseph Medical Center, received a Best Practices Award May 18 in Homecare and Hospice from the Pennsylvania Homecare Association in the Community Outreach and Advocacy category.
Nazareth Hospital, Northeast Philadelphia: Nazareth has received the Get With The Guidelines-Heart Failure Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association. The recognition honors hospitals that have accomplished at least 12 consecutive months of 85% or higher adherence to all Get With The Guidelines-Heart Failure Quality Achievement indicators and at least 12 consecutive months of 75% or higher compliance with four of nine Get With The Guidelines-Heart Failure Quality Measures for the same reporting period.
Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, Del.: The cardiac surgery program at Beebe has received the highest quality rating, 3-Star recognition, from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. The program is part of a partnership with the Center for Heart & Vascular Health at Christiana Care Health System, which also received the top rating.
North Penn Visiting Nurse Association, Lansdale, Pa.: The North Penn VNA was named to the 2010 HomeCare Elite, a compilation of the top-performing home health agencies in the U.S. Compiled by OCS HomeCare and DecisionHealth, the HomeCare Elite identifies the top 25% of agencies nationally.
South Jersey Healthcare, Vineland, N.J.: Capital Health in Trenton, N.J., has formed the Capital Health Neurosciences Network, a group of participating healthcare facilities with whom Capital will work to improve the availability of advanced diagnostics and treatment for patients throughout the region with neurological disorders. Capital announced that South Jersey Healthcare has joined the network as its inaugural network member.
Lancaster (Pa.) General Health: LG Health’s breast cancer program has received a three-year full accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. A member of the Penn Cancer Network affiliation, LG Health will break ground this fall for the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Center. The center will be a two-story, 70,000 square-foot center integrated with LG Health’s radiation oncology department in Lancaster.
Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover, Del.: Bayhealth has received a five-star rating for the quality of its critical care from HealthGrades, a leading independent healthcare ratings group. Bayhealth has earned five-star ratings in overall critical care for three consecutive years from the organization. The ultrasound department at Bayhealth’s Kent General Hospital has earned accreditation in breast ultrasound and guided breast biopsy from the American College of Radiology. •
The Bayhealth Wound Care Center won the Center of Distinction Award, given by Diversified Clinical Services, which recognizes wound care facilities with high patient satisfaction rates and exceptional healing results and clinical outcomes for wound care management and related services.
