Nurses inducted into hospital’s Academy Award for Nurses

Christopher Costello, RN

At Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, N.Y., Christopher Costello, RN, and Linda Prioleau, RN, NP, were honored at a July 1199SEIU League Nurse of Distinction Awards ceremony. Almost 800 guests gathered in New York City for an exciting evening that paid tribute to nurses who have served as pioneers in our community.

Prioleau, a med/surg staff nurse in Tower 5 on the Horton Campus, received the Nurse of Distinction in a Hospital Setting Award. Costello, nurse director at the Arden Hill Campus, was honored with the Nurse Leader Award.

Often referred to as the “Academy Awards for Nurses,” nominees and winners were chosen in each of the following five categories: Nurse of Distinction in a Hospital Setting, Nurse of Distinction in a Nursing Home Setting, Nurse Leader, Novice Nurse and Nurse Preceptor.

Semifinalist nominations for Orange Regional Medical Center were selected by the hospital’s Nurse of Distinction Committee in acknowledgment of their skills and dedication to their profession, patients, co-workers and the medical center, which moved Aug. 5 to 707 E. Main St. in Middletown.
