Question:
Dear Donna,
I have my BSN, and I have been looking at online MSN programs. A friend told me about a university that offers an MSN as an educator and/or a leadership role. I did not see a practicum for the program, but there is a capstone. The school is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Is it possible to earn an MSN without a practicum?
Gail
Dear Donna replies:
Dear Gail,
Yes, it is possible to complete an MSN without a practicum when the degree is not clinically based. You are wise to start making plans to further your education. If the program is accredited, has course work and curriculum that is interesting and exciting to you, and otherwise meets your needs, go for it.
Best wishes,
Donna
