Would dialysis training received in the Philippines be recognized in the U.S.?

Question:

Dear Donna,

Would dialysis training received in the Philippines be recognized in the U.S.? What are the requirements to qualify to work as a dialysis nurse in the U.S.?

Genevieve

Dear Donna replies:

Dear Genevieve,

I’m sure your dialysis training and experience will be recognized in the U.S. Although every employer is different, privately owned outpatient dialysis companies regularly hire nurses without dialysis experience. Hospitals and inpatient facilities might prefer some past experience or training, which you apparently have.

Best wishes,
Donna
