Jackson Health System RNs Earn Awards, Honors

Achiever awards were presented for July to the Telemetry Unit at Jackson North Medical Center and Elvira DeGuzman, RN, a clinical staff nurse in peds. The Telemetry Unit at Jackson North Medical Center was recognized for compassion by the family of a patient. The family wrote a letter of thanks to the staff for caring for their father during his long illness. DeGuzman was nominated for compassion by a grateful parent. Her nominator said, “Ms. Elvira shows her compassion and love when caring for her patients and parents. I can truly say that she is a gift from God. I couldn’t let the great work she does, and her ability to make her patients and their parents feel at ease during their darkest hours go unrecognized.”

The employee honored for August was Sara Kinsman, RN, a clinical staff nurse in the Women’s Hospital Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Kinsman was nominated by a co-worker for her compassion. Her nominator said, “Ms. Kinsman has demonstrated her commitment to our patients and has even sacrificed her own time to acquire donations. She is a model of truly compassionate caregiving and one who is dedicated to our patients’ care.”
