Nurses Discuss Long-Term Care at Networking Breakfast

Nursing professionals from long-term and community-based care organizations gathered June 21 to discuss “The Changing Culture of Long Term Care” in Portland, Ore.

The event was the first in a series of quarterly breakfasts organized by the Oregon Center for Nursing’s Long Term Care Leadership Workgroup. The event was co-sponsored and hosted by the Oregon Health Care Association.

Linda Bifano, RN, of Rose Schnitzer Manor at Cedar Sinai Park shares her views on “The Changing Culture of Long Term Care.”

Led by Linda Bifano, RN, MN, MPA, of Rose Schnitzer Manor at Cedar Sinai Park and CeCe Kiino, RN, of Hospice Care of the Northwest, the event featured nurse leaders discussing increasing acuity levels in patient populations, efforts to coordinate care among multiple agencies and balancing budget concerns with patient needs.

The second breakfast, “Education Trends in Long Term Care,” was Aug. 26.
