The Aug. 27 NurseWeek South Central Nursing Excellence Awards gala in Houston proved to be more eventful than planned when a Gannett Healthcare Group employee fainted onstage after experiencing an atrial fibrillation while reading nominations to help honor RN finalists of the awards program. Many RNs at the gala rushed to help. Two honorees, in particular, made sure the GHG employee was well cared for until an ambulance arrived.Kristina Davies, RN
