Two local hospitals earned top-notch recognition in the U.S. News & World Report Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll for 2010-2011.
Baltimores Johns Hopkins Children’s Center earned rankings in nine of the 10 specialties from the magazine, which will feature the rankings in its August issue. The issue hits newsstands July 27. Johns Hopkins ranked No. 2 nationally in Neurology & Neurosurgery. It also ranked in the top 10 in Urology (No. 7), Diabetes & Endocrinology (No. 8), Cancer (No. 9) and Neonatology (No. 10). Johns Hopkins placed 11th in four specialties Gastroenterology, Kidney, Orthopedics and Pulmonology.
Children’s National Medical Center, Washington, D.C., ranked in seven specialties, including No. 8 in Neonatology. CNMC also ranked 14th in Cancer, 15th in Heart & Heart Surgery, Kidney and Neurology & Neurosurgery, 19th in Urology and 24th in Pulmonology.
