Pardee Presents Shooting Star, Guiding Light Awards

Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, N.C, presented a Shooting Star Award in February to Sherrin Nolle, RN.

The award recognizes Pardee associates who consistently go above and beyond in their jobs and are role models to their associates. Award winners are nominated by their co-workers.

In nominating Nolle for the award, her colleagues said she consistently provides patients with high-quality care and is a strong patient advocate who does not hesitate to call physicians to get her patients what they need.

Sherrin Nolle, RN

Pardee also presented a Guiding Light Award to Gayle Sams, RN. The Guiding Light Award recognizes hospital directors who demonstrate excellence in leadership. Directors are nominated by their associates to receive the award. Sams, who manages several different departments including the ED and ICU, is known among her staff for offering support and encouragement to everyone, according to a news release. She encourages her staff to attend classes in pursuit of higher education.

Gayle Sams, RN

Her associates say she motivates them to always strive for improvement and she is a good role model because she maintains her certifications and strives to improve her knowledge as well, according to the release. She also makes sure to offer training to staff on a regular basis and does her best to ensure they have the most up-to-date equipment possible.
