The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsins Population Health Institute unveiled a Web site Feb. 10 that ranks the overall health of every county in all 50 states.
The site Countyhealthrankings.org allows residents, community leaders and policy makers to see how healthy their counties are compared to others around a state. Each county is ranked on how long residents live and how healthy they are, along with ranks of risk factors affecting health.
These rankings demonstrate that health happens where we live, learn, work and play, said Risa Lavizzo-Mourey, MD, MBA, president and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. People, no matter where they live, should have the best possible opportunity to be healthy.
