How can I become a patient care assistant?

I have been laid off from my job and am a single parent providing for four children. I’m interested in becoming a patient care assistant or another profession that requires little or no additional education. Please help because I really need a job.

Patient care assistant (PCA) sounds like the perfect position for you. Contact all area hospitals and express your interest. Ask about openings and in-house training provided. Also ask whether they have any recruitment events or employment “open house” events scheduled that you could attend. Additionally, you might look into becoming a certified nurses aide (CNA).

If interested, you also could contact rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, and other types of care centers.
