Cochran’s Nursing Program Receives Accreditation

The associate degree nursing program at Cochran School of Nursing at St. John’s Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, N.Y., received national accreditation from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission Inc. Cochran is the only nursing school in Westchester County to receive this designation.

“I want to congratulate our entire staff at the Cochran School of Nursing for their hard work and dedication in making this important accreditation possible,” said Kathleen M. Dirschel, RN, PhD, vice president for education and dean of the Cochran School of Nursing, in a news release. “We look forward to continuing to provide the finest quality education for our nursing students throughout the New York metro area.”

Founded in 1893, the school of nursing prides itself on providing small clinical learning sections. Students receive individualized attention from expert faculty as they learn to practice nursing. The school has an active, integrated academic program with Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
