Edward Hospital RNs Present at Evidence-Based Practice Conference

At the Evidence-Based Practice Conference at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Ill., Barbara Holmes Gobel, RN, MS, AOCN, gave the keynote about the Oncology Nursing Society initiative Putting Evidence Into Practice.

The conference was a collaboration between the Sigma Theta Tau chapters at Aurora University, Benedictine University, Lewis University, University of St. Francis, and Edward Hospital.

Debbi DelRe, RN, BSN, left, and Carolyn Bik, RN, MSN, CCRN, presented a poster at the Fifth Annual Evidence-Based Practice Conference.

During the conference, several Edward nurses gave presentations. Beverly Wendell, RN, MS, GCNS-BC, presented “Using Focus Groups to Identify Preceptor Needs,” while Pamela Eulberg, RN, MM, presented “Work Smarter, Not Harder.”

Patti Ludwig-Beymer, RN, PhD, CTN, NEA-BC, FAAN, talked about “Nursing Expertise and Factors Important for Retaining Nursing Staff,” and Lani Destree, MS, APN, CNS, CDE, and Lynn Jackman, RN, BSN, shared their expertise on “Glucose Control in the Cardiac Surgical Patient.”

Carolyn Bik, RN, MSN, CCRN, and Debbi DelRe, RN, BSN, presented the poster “Improving Care for an Alcohol-Withdrawal Patient in the Intensive Care Unit.”
