Advocate Nurses Present at Magnet Conference

Twenty-three staff members from Advocate Christ Medical Center/Hope Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, Ill., and Trinity Hospital in Chicago attended the 12th National Magnet Conference.

Diana Sobellini, RN, BSN, PCCN, presented the poster “Keeping With the Flow … VAD Education Across the Spectrum,” which was coauthored by Sarah Kapinus, RN; Michelle Nellett, APN, CCRN, CCNS; and Helen Lonergan-Thomas, APN, CCNS. Deborah Duey, APN, CCRN, presented the MICCU poster “Leaving Alive: Implementing Initiatives to Decrease Hospital Mortality” on behalf of authors Karen A. Bogdan, RN, MS, CCRN; Amy Jager, RN, BSN, CCRN; Kathleen Cloutier, RN, BSN, CCRN; Kelly Wesselhoff, RN, BSN, CCRN, CVN; Sherron Johnson-Boyd, RN; and Kristin Bortoli, RN.

From left, Jennifer Connor, RNC, BSN; Kimberly Eiden, RN, BSN; and Deborah Gentile, RN, presented the documentary “Hearing All the Voices: Leading the Way to Successful Shared Governance.”

Wendy Tuzik-Micek, RN, PhD, and Cheryl Lefaiver, RN, PhD, partnered with Ruth Kleinpell, RN, PhD, FAAN, of Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, to present “Moving Quality Improvement to Research: It’s More Than Sample Size and Design.”

Jennifer Connor, RNC, BSN; Kimberly Eiden, RN, BSN; and Deborah Gentile, RN, presented a documentary about Advocate’s growth of shared governance.
