In celebration of nursing leadership in New Jersey, the Organization of Nurse Executives of New Jersey (ONE/NJ) recently held its annual awards program in honor of outstanding nurse leaders and aspiring nurse leaders from around the state at the Forsgate Country Club in Monroe, New Jersey.
While guests enjoyed brunch, Edna Cadmus, RN, PhD, ONE/NJ president and senior vice president, Patient Care Services, Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, welcomed everyone and gave an overview of the past year’s organizational accomplishments. Following an introduction and acknowledgments of ONE/NJ board members and of Executive Director Pat Daley, RN, MA, CNA, BC, the keynote address was given by Heather Howard, commissioner, New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services.
Recipients of the 2008 Leadership Awards were then introduced by ONE/NJ President-elect Deanna Sperling, RN, MAS, CNA, BC, and Robyn Begley, RN, MSN, immediate past president.
The Distinguished Service Award was bestowed on Ann Logan, RN, senior vice president and CNE, Solaris Health System; the Professional Recognition Award went to Elizabeth Sheridan, RN, COO & CNE, South Jersey Healthcare-Regional Medical Center.
Nurse Executive Award was given to Maureen Schneider, RN, senior vice president, Clinical Operations, Somerset Medical Center; Kathleen Kaminsky, RN, vice president, Clinical Effectiveness, Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, received the Divisional Leader Award.
The Nurse Leader Award went to Amy Doran, RN, AVP, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center; Kathy Faber, RN, Clinical Nurse Leader, was awarded the Aspiring Nurse Leader Award; and Senator Richard Codey and his wife, Mary Jo, were the recipients of the Impact Award.
