New Princeton Hospital Takes Shape

Demolition and site preparation work began recently on a three-year project that will become the University Medical Center of Princeton in New Jersey.

The 243-bed facility, which is expected to open in 2011 according to Princeton HealthCare System, will feature state-of-the-art technologies, indigenous landscaping, healing gardens, and a 32-acre public park along the Millstone River.

The site, located in Plainsboro, is situated on Route 1 between Scudders Mill Road and Plainsboro Road. The Plainsboro Township Planning Board approved the site plan July 7 for the replacement hospital.
