Penn’s Sigma Theta Tau Chapter Celebrates Anniversary

The Honor Society of Nursing’s Sigma Theta Tau International Xi Chapter at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia celebrated its 50th anniversary in May. Xi was the first chapter in the Philadelphia area.

Diane Spatz, RN, PhD, FAAN, Xi Chapter’s president, conducted an induction ceremony at the celebration, welcoming 48 new members to the group. Carol J. Huston, RN, MSN, DPA, FAAN, president of Sigma Theta Tau International, joined the celebration.

Sigma Theta Tau promotes nursing excellence. Membership to the honor society is by invitation only to registered nurses who have demonstrated achievement in nursing and hold a minimum of a baccalaureate degree.
