Citrus College Graduates First Nursing Class

Glendora, Calif. — Twenty-two students graduated as Citrus College’s first associate-degree nursing class in June, taking part in a special pinning ceremony and reciting the International Pledge for Nurses.

The college launched the program last summer in response to the nationwide nursing shortage, which is expected to increase to 340,000 nurses by 2020.

Citrus’ first class to enroll in the ADN program was part of the one-year “advanced placement option,” designed for students who had already acquired their vocational nursing licenses and were entering the RN classes in the third semester.
