Mission Hospital Honors Nurses With Make Overs

Mission Viejo, Calif. — Mission Hospital transformed the top of its seven-story parking structure into a relaxation retreat June 3 to honor the hospital’s nurses for their hard work and dedication.

As part of the hospital’s first Mission Recognition Retreat, 20 patient care staff members, including nurses, took part in a full-day spa experience that included 30-minute full-body massages, facials, hair styling, and professional wardrobe consulting. Ten staff members were nurses selected at random from among hundreds who had been nominated by their peers. Each winner, in turn, got to choose another staff member to share in the experience.

All physicians and staff were invited to receive free walk-in massages. Employees were also treated to a catered lunch.

On display were two 10-foot banners with signatures and messages of thanks from more than 500 community members.

Denise Wells, RN, of the care management department enjoys a facial.

Salwa Saheb, RN, of the cardiac intensive care unit gets her hair styled.
