Duarte, Calif. City of Hope has named Shirley Johnson, RN, MS, MBA, as chief nursing and patient services officer and Sharon Steinglass, RN, MSN, as vice president of ambulatory services.
Johnson, a 30-year nursing professional, comes from Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where she served as executive director of Siteman Cancer Center. She acts as president of the Association of Cancer Executives and chairs the BMT Program Administrators Steering Committee for the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation. Johnson recently completed a six-year term on the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. For the past two years, she has also represented the Siteman Cancer Center on the board of directors for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and been an active member of two of the organizations committees.
Steinglass has more than three decades of experience in Southern California cancer centers, having most recently served as interim chief nursing officer at City of Hope. She has been active in the Oncology Nursing Society at both the local and national levels and is a member of the organizations Steering Council.
